Auto-Update and Customized Installers

Hi all,

there is a problem when you are using a customized installer with auto-update which is known for almost 9 months now:

As far as I could see the proposed workaround will stop all automatic downloads of new versions of M-Files.
Does one of you have any really working workaround that let's people update without exchanging M-Files Online with M-Files 2018?
