Network Folder Connector

Hi, We are experiencing two issues relating to Network Folder Connector:

1- If an object has been converted to a managed Object und the name (titel) of the Object has been assigned automaticaly (automatic value) the original Filename on the extrenla Repository will be also changed! Is there any possibility to keep the original Filename in the original locatiion but keep it changed in the M-Files Metadata?

2- Wenn checking out an Excel Sheet which is located on an external repository und editing it, the user get an Error (see Screenshot below) as checking in the File aftzer editing. This Error does not apear wenn a Word File from the same location has benn edited ans checked in.

  • Problem 2 looks a bit like difficulties I have had with running OCR on files in the external repository. It looks like the files get a Read Only attribute when checked out, but the apparently the system is not always able to remove that Read Only attribute before it attempts to write back the updated file. I am not 100% certain, because I do not have direct access to the external folder in my case. But it looks that way from what I can see. You get the same type of errors. That could indicate or general problem with check out / check in operations in certain circumstances....

Regarding the first question: the managed object in M-Files vault is still linked to the file in the external repository. If the file name is changed in M-Files, the external repository file will be renamed as well. Unfortunately, it is not possible to have different file names in M-Files and on the network folder.
