Problem with document preview

Hi all,

We experience some weird behaviors in preview tab. Sometimes documents just changed are not re-rendered.

We have in some cases properties used in metadata placeholders. When changed them and save, those changes are not applied to preview mode.

It is strange because it seems if document is clicked and previewed for longer time, the document content is cached and is not re-loaded anymore.

Is it possible to re-load document always so preview will be rendered always with latest properties?

If checking-out or even opening document in read-only mode, latest properties gets applied. In preview however it does not work when document is cached.

Does anyone has suggestions about this?

Best,

Dejan

  • The inserted properties in Office documents are by default updated only when the document is opened in an Office application, so if you only change the metadata fields without opening the document, the fields are not updated. You can try if enabling this option would help, that way the fields are updated on the server during each check-in: Enabling Automatic Updates for Metadata Fields

  • Hi Joonas,

We are already using this feature and it helps really when opening documents in read-only mode. All metadata is mapped accordingly even without checking them out. However, it does not help with preview.

What I observed: when you select the document for the first time, it gets rendered and metadata gets mapped. If you start changing it and previewing it again, it seems like it is cached and not shown correctly anymore (changes are not re-rendered).

    Best,

    Dejan

  • Alright, in that case you might want to raise this with our support team to verify whether it's working as designed or if there is some issue with the cache refresh.
