We are thrilled to share some exciting updates with you. As Microsoft shifts its focus to the new Outlook for Windows and related web technologies, we at M-Files are also adapting to enhance your experience.
We are excited to announce that we are introducing a new integration, which includes a web-based offering, 'M-Files for Outlook Pro (web-based)'. The estimated release date for this new integration is September 2024.
The M-Files for Outlook Pro (web-based) integration will offer significant improvements to your user experience and is designed to work effortlessly with both the new Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web.
The current M-Files Advanced Outlook Add-In will be deprecated December 31, 2024. Additionally, the M-Files Outlook (COM-based) application will now be called M-Files for Outlook Pro (COM-based) and will enter 'maintenance only' mode.
What This Means for You:
- Requirement: To ensure continuous support and optimal functionality, we strongly recommend you switch to the new Outlook for Windows app and install M-Files for Outlook Pro (web-based) between October 1 and December 31, 2024. If your organization is unable to move away from the Classic Outlook Desktop app by the end of this year, you can use the M-Files for Outlook Pro (COM-based) as an interim solution.
- Timeline: The deprecation of the Advanced Outlook Add-In will be finalized, and all transitions to M-Files for Outlook Pro integrations must be completed by December 31, 2024.
- Licensing: Customers who have the M-Files Advanced Outlook Add-in as part of their subscription can continue to renew this application until December 31, 2024. The new M-Files for Outlook integration (Pro or COM-based) will be added to subscriptions, alongside the M-Files Advanced Outlook Add-in, upon release to allow customers a period of testing and transition. During this transition phase, there will be no increase in your subscription costs. Additionally, your current year's subscription rate will remain unchanged.
How to Prepare:
To assist you in this transition, we have prepared a comprehensive "M-Files for Outlook Integrations" Product Guide. This guide will provide you with detailed instructions and support to help you transition from the previous Outlook integration solutions to the new M-Files for Outlook Pro Integrations.
