Metadata Value based on Filename

Question

Hi All, 
 is it possible to automatically to get a metadata from a filename 
 Example: 
 We have a file named: 123_Michael_2023_Proposal.pdf 
 When we upload the file, then the metadata will be automatically filled as follows: 
 
 Cust id: 123 
 Cust name: Michael 
 Year: 2023 
 Doc Type: proposal

i've managed to use basic way to utilize MS Excel to do the filename separation, together with M-Files XML Importer tools to ingest the file and metadata into M-Files, and it works fine now...

This is possible but requires some custom coding, there's no built-in functionality if you need to apply the values automatically. 
 If the files are uploaded by the user in the client and it's enough that you show metadata suggestions to the user, you can use the Information Extractor add-on module if you are comfortable working with regular expressions. See filenamePattern in section "Adding Custom Suggestion Rules" of Configuring the M-Files Information Extractor Intelligence Services .
