install m-files on a network not connected to the internet

Hello community ,

One of my clients will be authorized confidential defense and will need to isolate m-files from its usual network. The future m-files network will be completely isolated from the internet.

Is it possible to install the m-files database and client on a dedicated network without an internet connection ?

I would like to be sure that m-files does not need to connect to internet at times (License check or other module).

Thanks for your help.

  • Hi there,

As long there is a local area network with TCP/IP capability, it is possible. There is no need for internet. This means that the system updates will happen manually as automatic updates feature is not usable as-is. For the full working capability, the system should also have an email server for delivering notifications for the user email addresses. This can also be arranged locally.
