Interactive PDF Forms - automated check-in

Dear community

We have a question regarding automated check-in of PDF with interactive fields in it. The standard setting in the M-Files client is to automatically check-in documents when closing them. This works fine for all PDF's, expect those PDF's with writeable fields in it.

Does anybody know if there is a setting or hack to change this unwanted behaviour?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Regards,

Dario

  • If I recall right, the fillable PDF files do not have any kind of "save" feature, only "Print". This means that the text remains on the PDF just as long until you close it, as the document itself does not have a way to save the text inside the boxes to be filled. Therefore, as M-Files is just a storage location in this case, the changes do not get saved. The user should print (as pdf)  the filled out document and then to save it to the document vault.
