Activate desktop co-authoring in your Microsoft 365 environment

M-Files Business platform customers using M-Files Cloud can now use Microsoft 365 natively within M-Files—starting with desktop co-authoring. With this new capability, documents are stored directly in your Microsoft 365 environment, giving you seamless collaboration, better AI outcomes and stronger compliance. Desktop co-authoring is included in the Business platform subscription at no extra cost. It only needs to be activated in your Microsoft 365 environments.

Product Updates

Visual Workflows Improvements (M-Files Desktop & Web)

Workflow descriptions: You can now add descriptions to workflow states, giving users clearer guidance on what’s expected at each stage.
Technical states: States meant only for automatic transitions (e.g., calculations, automation) can be marked as technical. These won’t clutter the user interface when viewing workflow history, keeping things cleaner and more relevant.

Smarter Search Filtering (M-Files Desktop & Web)

The Search filter pane has been redesigned for better accessibility.
Users can now multi-select filter options and type to narrow down choices—making it faster to find exactly what you need.

Feature parity additions: Document Collection Functionality (M-Files Desktop & Web)

Document collection features are now available to new clients.
You can easily work with collections and collection members directly from the context menu in both M-Files Web and Desktop.

These updates also bring us closer to full feature parity, supporting a seamless transition to the new M-Files Desktop.

M-Files for Outlook Lite is included in all the M-Files subscriptions.
