Designed to seamlessly integrate with M-Files’ web interface, this updated desktop client provides a consistent user experience across all platforms. It retains all the functionalities and user interface elements of the web client, while also offering the additional advantages of a desktop application.
The new M-Files Desktop modernizes and future-proofs the technology stack, ensuring we can take advantage of the latest innovations accelerating our ability to innovate. But it is not just a technical refresh! We are enhancing M-Files Desktop by adding new features and making it easier to perform common functions like advanced searches, easier navigation, and managing versions.
M-Files Web and M-Files Desktop will share the same foundation, all features available in the new M-Files Web will also be available in the new M-Files Desktop.
Customers using a Mac will also now have a full featured client they can run in a browser.

The new Desktop client is supported only for gRPC protocol so all users using gRPC protocol vaults will have access to the new desktop client through the Classic Desktop client. Vault connections that are not done with gRPC protocol will be opened always with the Classic Desktop client and they do not have a possibility to move to the new client.
