With the release of M-Files Help Center, we will officially deprecate both the M-Files User Lite online course and the add-on vault application on June 30th, 2023.
This means that users will not be able to access the M-Files User Lite course from the vault application or online. However, we will replace User Lite with something better - M-Files Help Center, which will have all the benefits of User Lite and much more. You can learn more about the upcoming M-Files Help Center here.
To prepare for this switch, it's important to inform your users that this change is coming. However, you can reassure them that everything that they love about User Lite will be present in M-Files Help Center.

We are currently using User Lite, what do we need to do?
Essentially two things:
- Inform your users and customers about this switch. The M-Files Help Center will be available as part of the M-Files June automatic update on the week starting on June 19th. As part of your communication efforts, feel free to send them the M-Files Help Center Community post.
- If your organization uses the M-Files User Lite vault application, you will have to uninstall it manually come June 30th (see the question below for instructions.).
Do we need to do something to remove or disable the User Lite tab in the vault?
In M-Files Web, you don't have to do anything. However, in M-Files Desktop, the User Lite tab doesn't go away automatically. Therefore, the app has to be manually disabled and removed come June 30th. You can find instructions for disabling the vault application in the Installing and Configuring Embedded M-Files User Lite guide in Base. There, you will find instructions for disabling/removing the application for both cloud and non-cloud vaults.
Do we need to do something to enable M-Files Help Center?
No, upon launch, M-Files Help Center will be automatically available to all users via the M-Files Desktop and M-Files Web user interfaces. If for any reason your organization needs to disable this feature, you have the option to do so in M-Files Admin. We will offer more instructions about disabling the Help Center around launch.
What's M-Files User Lite?
M-Files User Lite is an online course that offers a video tutorial library of M-Files fundamental and advanced features. It's accessible online or directly from the vault, as an additional tab in the M-Files UI.
