M-Files for Microsoft Teams - October 2023 Product Update

Welcome to M-Files for Microsoft Teams October 2023 Product Update, 

We are always committed to enhancing our platform to provide the best user experience possible. Now, we are thrilled to introduce our most recent updates, which were rolled out in October.

• If you are using M-Files Plugin for Microsoft Teams, it needs to be updated to the version 23.10.5.2 from the M-Files Catalog -> Licensing and Downloads.
• If you are facing issues after the update, please try the following:
  • Logout/login from Teams
  • Clearing the browser cache if you are using Teams on the web.
• New Teams release from Microsoft is not yet supported.
• Only M-Files Cloud customers are currently supported.
• Existing Azure AD Federated Authentication Scope still needs to be modified to get the add-in authentication to work.
• NOTE: Support for the new Teams release is coming soon. Our target is also to add support for the M-Files On-Premises customers and using a separate Authentication Scope for the add-in by the end of this year, 2023.

"White screen" issue when using M-Files August release or newer has been fixed.

• Add-in now works also with the latest M-Files releases.

Support for embedded mode on M-Files tab.

• When you use M-Files from the Teams tab, the user experience is now simplified and focused inside the specified view.

 

 

Content shared in Microsoft Teams view for external users.

• External users and users who do not have access rights to the shared view path see the shared content in an automatically created view with the name Content shared in Microsoft Teams.

 

 

Improved access rights

• Previously, only vault admins could specify the tab settings. Now, all the internal users can specify these settings and enable the M-Files users only access rights. By default, vault admin rights are necessary to enable the Everyone can read and edit access rights. However, there is a new setting in the M-Files Plugin for Microsoft Teams configuration that you can use to let also specific user groups enable this option.
