Welcome to M-Files June 2023 Mobile Product Update,
iOS Updates, available in the App Store:
- The app supports filename placeholders in metadata card configuration rules.
- Flashlight can now be used for scanning QR codes to boost convenience and efficiency for our users.
- The metadata card is shown right away when the object creation is started for improved visibility.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) packages available now.
Updates for Android available in the Google Play this June:
- There is no Mobile Device Management release planned for June 2023.
Coming Next:
- Creating a vault connection in M-Files Mobile will get easier than before:
- Users can find the QR code for creating the connection in the user settings for M-Files Desktop.
- Admins can edit the QR code content or hide it completely.
- As part of these changes, we will deprecate the add vault link functionality. These links will no longer work starting in the December 2023 update. More details about this change will be posted here closer to releasing this feature.
- M-Files server compatibility will get updated for Android in December 2023:
- The December 2023 update for the M-Files Android Mobile App will no longer work with M-Files servers that use an M-Files version older than 12.0.6400.37, this means users cannot use the December 2023 version of the Android app to connect to vaults that are on servers using an M-Files version that is older than 12.0.6400.37.
- The same server-level support is already in use in M-Files for iOS. We recommend that you always use the most recent available version of the software.
