M-Files automatically adds property

If you are starting the document creation in a view, by default M-Files automatically prefills properties based on the view filters. Would that explain it?

If you want to disable this behavior, you can modify the Property Prefilling option under Advanced Vault Settings > Client > Classic Desktop > Metadata Card. You need to first set "Manage Client Settings Centrally" setting to "Yes" in the Client section if you don't see the Classic Desktop section.

Add those object types where you want this prefilling behavior to be in effect, it is disabled for all other object types. If you want to disable it fully, add some object type that users are never creating in the client. Here I'm using the Report object type for that.

Note that users need to log out of the vault and back in before the new settings are applied.

Thanks, this is actually what I was looking for. I added "Assignment" for one object type like you also suggested, as I think assignment could have auto relationship. At least for now, we will see in the future.
