Export Data

You probably need to raise the maximum number of results which can be controlled under Advanced Vault Settings > Search > Limits in M-Files Admin. This support article has information on search limits: Managing Search and View Limits

In general, it's good to note that the desktop client's export option is not designed for exporting large document volumes. For mass exports, you may want to explore the export option in M-Files Admin.

As we're preparing a full structure export as well, is there a best practice or method for exporting the full structure of a cloud vault to an on-prem server, or would we likely need to pull the data from the cloud storage ourselves?

As far I'm aware, the content replication only lets me store the backup online.

You can replicate both the vault structure and content by using the cloud storage option in the export and import jobs. This works regardless of whether the source and target vaults are hosted in the cloud or on‑premises. The only requirement is that the on‑premises server must be able to connect to Azure storage in order to download the replication package.

I know of the option of using cloud storage backups in on-premises servers, but that would mean an 'extra' step via an on-premises M-Files vault would be required if I wanted to export the full vault content to a local storage outside of M-Files (e.g. local network storage), right?
