Can you give someone access to add a comment but not edit metadata?

We have a group that needs the ability to add comments to particular document classes.  It appears as if I have to grant them Edit access for this.  But I don't want the people in the group to edit anything else on the metadata card.  They should be able to read everything, but I would like to limit their access to just read and add comments.  Is this possible?

    I don't think this is currently possible unfortunately, edit rights are required. We have an existing improvement request (ID 136826) to enable this, I've added you as a requestor. Should this get implemented at some point in the future, the ID will be mentioned in the release notes.

    Hi,

    for the workaround you can use assignment for review/adding comment on specific document, while the doc has read-only permission, user still can give their comment in the assignment.
