Can a notification show WHICH property was changed?

Hello,

We have set-up a notification to alert users when a form was changed (a non-state change).

The form is changed multiple times before it is submitted, and each change generates a notification to specific users.

Those users are now asking if it's possible to know which field was changed.

Checking the version history, while useful, entails a number of steps and of course the change should be obvious.

Is it possible to show in the notification which field was changed?

Or is there another solution for such cases?

Thanks!

  • I don't think there's an easy way to get this information into a notification unfortunately, but if your users are viewing the object in M-Files Web or the new M-Files Desktop they can check the activity feed to see which properties have changed. The activity feed is a relatively new feature that's only available in the new clients.

  • Thank you   - just checked it out on the web version looks like this could do what we want, albeit not the e-mail, but a nice feature to include. As a suggestion, it would be nice to filter user and system changes as I find in most cases users are interested in seeing changes by other persons and opposed to the user 'M-Files Server'

  • Thanks for the suggestion! I've recorded it for our product team.
