Any way to filter "Last Modifed by" by User Groups instead of individual users?

Hello,

I am setting up conditions for an Advanced Notification Rule that I want triggered only if “Last Modified by” is from specific users.

However, I realise that this will become quickly outdated as users change/leave/join the organisation and that the Rule would have to be manually updated.

Is there any way, then, for me to specify that the rule would be triggered by modification from any users from within a User Group as opposed to individual users?

“Last Modified by” field does not seem to accommodate modifications by User Groups as only individual users can be specified.

  • You can't directly use a user group with the Last modified by property as it expects a user account as a value.

What kind of a rule are you trying to set up? Who should get notified and when? Is this related to some specific process?

  • Hi  , sorry just coming back to this now as I was away for a while.
I just want to set up some notification rules that are triggered only when the document is modified by a specific set of users (in this case, our Human Resources staff).

I know that I can use the "Last modified by" to select the individual users, but when relevant users from HR department leave or join the organisation, then the notifications would have to manually updated everytime so that they can continue to be triggered by the correct/current users.

Because User Groups are the main method we use to organise and control users, then this would eliminate the need to think about manually updating the notifications, as updating the User Group would be enough.

Any other ideas of how I could achieve this?
