Access Denied errors in M-Files 25.10.15296.12 classic desktop client

I am getting quite frequent (several times per day) "Access Denied" errors in the classic desktop client on M-Files 25.10.15296.12.

This is despite it being presumably fixed in M-Files 25.10 SR1 according to Release Notes, which is why I am reporting it here.

Error text:

CoScriptDelegate_Events.cpp, 418, Access is denied. (0x80070005)
IDispatchInvocation.cpp, 96, Access is denied. (0x80070005)
(M-Files 25.10.15296.12 2025-11-10T15:11:49.111Z)

I am mostly using the metadata card or UIXv1 API to edit objects (i.e. not editing documents). Notably, the actual operations are usually successful, i.e. not failing to update the object.

  • Have you reported this to M-Files Support? Any product issues and suspected defects should be raised with the support team so they can be properly investigated. This peer-to-peer forum is not an official support channel.

The problem fixed in 25.10 SR1 was related to the new M-Files Desktop and specifically timestamp properties, so this sounds like a different issue if it's happening in the classic client.
