Set Class as Default when creating a new Object

If you only want to set a default class (with an option for the user to change it) you can use metadata card configuration by creating a rule that includes only an object type filter and applying SetValue to the Class property.

If you’re using the new M-Files Desktop or Web, ensure you’re running the latest version, as support for this configuration was introduced in the October '25 release.

I've setup a default class with the metadata card configuration and it works when creating (from the +) or dragging a document in from a windows folder. But when I drag an email from Outlook it doesn't.  Any reason why?  If I create the document using the M-Files addin in Outlook it does give me the default class.  But the client wants to drag emails into the vault and get the default class. Any suggestions?

I don't have specific suggestions at this point. It may be worth raising this with Support so they can confirm whether this behavior is expected or if it requires attention from the product team.
