Google Chrome extension

I installed the new M-Files Chrome extension yesterday, and I'm still getting the message on the top of my screen saying:

"M-Files for Chrome is not installed or enabled. Download the extension here and read these instructions to complete the installation"

I checked to make sure the extension is enabled and it is.

Any ideas why it keeps giving me this message?

If memory serves, I ran into this as well until I installed the most recent Java version. Although I may be thinking of Firefox....

Also make sure to run 'Click here to complete installation' in the options menu (left click the little M icon next to the address bar) or from the extensions page.

Thank you for trying to help, but I'm referring to the new Google Chrome extension that was created specifically because M-Files Web will no longer be using Java, as many browsers no longer support it.

I did complete the installation from the extensions page, before posting on this forum, and unfortunately it is still showing the message.

I should point out that M-Files Web is still working, but for my users it will be quite confusing to have that message appear after they have gone through the process of installing an extension, so I would like to know how to make the message disappear before training my users on the new extension.

Yeah unfortunately that is what I was referring to.

The extension seems to be a little iffy when setting it up initially, but its good once it starts working properly. We had to run the 'complete installation' file a few times in a row to get that message to go away.

Yes I have. I went through all the steps and double checked to see if the extension was enabled before writing my post?

Any ideas why M-Files thinks I have not installed the extension yet?
  • Typically this happens if you did not finish the installation (chapter 2 in the document). Notice that in order to restart Chrome, it is not enough to just close all browser windows because Chrome keeps running on the background when using the default settings, so you need to close Chrome from the notification area icon too (or restart).

If these don't help, which M-Files version do you use?

I just can just confirm, that I have the same problem. I can see M-Files for Chrome 1.6.8 Enabled in Chrome Extensions, and I have my site in Chrome trustied sites. I gave up because we can live with it.
