M-Files Connector for Network Folders

As far as I know this hasn't been implemented yet, the connector provides access to existing files and folders on the network share.

This means that I would have to create a map drive for all my users who want to create files in the folder. It would be great if M-Files can implement direct access.

Is there a specific reason those files need to be stored on the network share? Could new documents be created in the M-Files vault so that users could find the right documents based on their metadata regardless of their location (older files on the network share, newer ones in the M-Files vault)?

New documents are created in the vault. This is archive data that needs to be accessed via M-Files. I have built a vault for the users with metadata but all the old data (around 50000+ Files) cannot be copied one at a time

Alright, above you said "users who want to create files in the folder" so that's why I was wondering why files would need to be created there at all. Perhaps I'm missing the point here.

No you are right. they should create new files outside the windows folder
