Drag out documents without write protection?

We often need to drag out documents from M-Files to another application (i.c. Exhibit Manager). These documents are then write protected (Windows) and we have a problem with electronic stamping (PDFs get a numbered stamp).
As a work around, we drag the files to the desktop first, remove the write protection and import them from desktop.
Is it possible to change the drag and drop behavior, so that the files get dragged-out unprotected?
