I don't know what is happening. All my workflows start with a draft state which always comes as default when the object is created. For some reason, the state transition is blank instead of showing "draft". Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

Forgot to say, when I create a new object (workflow is forced on new objects) it appears like this:
I don't want the user to have to select this first transition - it is not required in all the other workflows that I have created.
A couple of things to try:
1) When you open the workflow properties in M-Files Admin, make sure that the Draft state is the first one in the list. You can move the states with the arrows on the right.
2) If that alone doesn't help, try setting the first transition from (no state) to Draft to be automatic, for instance with this automatic trigger:
