Hubshare Connection to M-Files - Invalid Credentials

We are setting up Hubshare for a client who has whitelisted the hubshare IP's, but when trying to establish the connection, we receive an "Invalid Credentials" error.

I have a few questions regarding this issue:

  1. We are using an IP address instead of the server URL. Could this be causing the problem? We've noticed that calls from Hubshare to the server are being made, so the connection seems to be working.

  2. We are using a windows user for authentication. Is this a potential issue? If windows authentication is correct, should the domain name be included in the username (e.g., domainname\username), or should the domain be configured under gRPC field in the general setup?

  3. Is there anything else we might be missing? Since the connection seems to reach the server, but we still receive "Invalid Credentials," we've tested these credentials with a web login, and they work fine there.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

I would say that point 2 is the reason: windows authentication doesn't work from what I know so far. You have to use a login/password authentication with M-Files credentials OR to rely on an external IDP.

To verify the credentials and the authentication configuration you can try to use the same information directly to connect/sign in in M-Files Web (vnext ideally).
