Hello Irene,

This option was available in the past with every text properties but for security reasons we have set it to work only for Hyperlink type of properties.

Make sure that in your M-Files Admin, you have set that property to be a hyperlink, as shown below:

When changed, clear the cache on Hubshare side and it should work on your widget.

If you've enabled edition, you will see that option, if not the link will open straight away.

Hi Abdoullah Azieze , thank you so much for responding.  My properties were set as hyperlinks but as Text Multiline (because some links are very long), as soon as I changed them to plain text, it worked.  Any chance the same could work for a multiline field?

After our security audit made along with M-Files, the decision was made to keep the hyperlink only with simple text data type and hyperlink content.

That's what Product team confirmed to me when I asked them.

If you feel that is something that needs to be double checked, you can let me know and I will create an improvement request to them.

I know that standard text fields are limited in length.  If you have access to some development resource then maybe one option would be to have a second text field which contains a "short link".  There are a lot of link shortening services out there (e.g. "bitly") and I am sure that a couple of them have an API.

I don't like suggesting code-related options to non-developers, but I thought I'd highlight that this could be one way around.

Thanks Craig, I will keep that in mind. Do we know how many characters is a standard text field?

A standard single-line text property is 100 characters in length, I believe.  At least: last time I checked.
