Hubshare Watermark - only works when printing, not when downloaded

Hello Community,

As stated in the topic thread, I have created an ("Uncontrolled when printed") watermark that needs to be applied within a certain widget. (I am using the standard Watermark function provided by Hubshare).

When I click on a document, that are then displayed in the preview this Watermark works wonderfully. When I print from the preview screen using the little print button this also works wonderfully.

HOWEVER: When I click the download button, the document that is downloaded is without the Watermark....This is a mystery to me....

I thought to myself, ok, maybe I can just disable downloads while enabling printing to solve this problem...However the widget only allows for both downloading and printing....You can enable one without the other.

My question:

  • Have I missed a box that I need to check....?
  • Is anyone else having this problem? if so How have you managed to solve this?
  • Developers, is there a solution on the horizon?

Thanks advance.

  • Hello,

The watermark process is handled through the viewer which explains why it is not applied in the document itself.

Hubshare only displays the content from the vault and does not replicate it or move it, which does not let it add any kind of element to it.

You might try to take a look on the vault side if you can handle that matter, but otherwise the watermark being visible only in the viewer is not a bug, just a limitation of that feature.

    Hope that helps.
