Automatic Metadata AINO

We’re currently working with a potential client who plans to leverage the Network Folder Connector to access documents stored in an external repository directly through the M-Files client application.

We’re evaluating options to streamline metadata assignment and would like to know:

Is it currently possible for Aino to automatically populate metadata fields for documents brought in via the Network Folder Connector, once the folder is configured—without requiring manual metadata entry on each document?

Any insights on configuration requirements or limitations would be greatly appreciated.

    Development is underway to enable bulk metadata updates on the background, which will be introduced in an upcoming phase of the Aino metadata automation. Currently, users can initiate metadata population on individual documents by selecting the 'Analyze' button, which triggers Aino's automated processing.

    Depending on the type of information they aim to extract from the files, M-Files Discovery alongside other (non-GenAI) intelligence services such as M-Files Information Extractor may already offer viable solutions for immediate needs, ahead of the future Aino enhancements. I recommend discussing the specifics of the case with the local M-Files partner team to explore the most suitable approach.
