Prevent checkout for users

If you only give read access to all users via the object permissions, wouldn't that meet this requirement? M-Files Server itself can always check out and modify the object regardless of the permissions.

I have this same issue, but read only does not help. You still get prompt to checkout and you can do that.

Are you sure you are testing as a normal user without admin rights? Normal users shouldn't get prompted to check out if they only have read-only permission. Admin users are not restricted by object permissions.
