Hello,
All out our clients are using Microsoft Office 64-bit.
Those are versions: 2013,2016 and Microsoft Office 365 Apps. All are 64bits.
M-Files is also updated to latest version.
They are using the standard M-Files Outlook Addin.
The issue:
When using the button save to M-Files on a message (.MSG) no preview is being shown.
This is only for .MSG files, pdf/word/exce/images work as expected.
This is an issue only on the 64-bit Office. For tests we installed 32-bit and the MSG preview works.
Any ideas how to fix that? Office 32-bit is not possible for install.
Edit to add more information:
We have corporate users who actively store emails from Outlook through the M-Files add-on.
They use the Preview option of the document or email while saving because it is convenient for them to see the file/email and copy info from it to the metadata card.
The problem that is noticed is the following: When saving an email via the M-Files button in the ribbon in Outlook, the Preview for the email does not load.
This is only for office suites that are 64-bit.
.MSG, .EML, and other email file types are associated for opening with Outlook.
All office suites are 64-bit Microsoft Office 365 Apps for Enterprise.
Office packages have been updated to the latest version, M-Files Desktop applications and M-Files server - too.
The Outlook that is used is the one from the office suite - classic, not New.
The add-on is the standard one that appears as an integration with the office suite when installing M-Files Desktop.
Windows OS – 11, updated.
Preview on save works with PDF, Word or other documents. We tested on old versions - MS Office 2013, 2016 - again not working for 64-bit. Preview of .MSG on Save only works for 32-bit. Once saved, the .MSG files in M-Files Desktop itself are loaded into Preview, regardless of the version of the office suite.
