Add Document from PC through M-FILES – Icon and File Window Request

Good morning!
There is no way to directly add a document from your device while you are in the middle of creating a document, which I find a major shortcoming. When you click the "+" button, you do get the option to create a new document from scratch, but not to add an existing document from your files. In our organisation, especially for Requests or Reports where the user has to add 'supporting documents' - this causes major inconvenience.
At the moment, we set-up that the user has to create the Request first, then when created the Request automatically turns into a "Multi-File Document" and then the users can drag-and-drop the additional documents into the MFD. This step is ok if you know it but is illogical and causes confusion for other users, especially newcomers.

You can save new documents from any program directly to M-Files using the standard Save or Save As feature. The user just has to select M: and possibly a vault if he has access to multiple vaults as destination. The metadata card will pop up and user then adds the class and any required properties for that class. Same procedure as if he would save to a local or network drive. No need for special features in M-Files or elsewhere. A little user training solves the problem.
