Is Workspaces the new "Detail Listings"?

Hey guys,

just saw the new workspaces feature, will this be the detail listings replacement? Looks good at first sight, but needs to be way more configurable cause a workspace shouldn't be limited to show only a single Object Type..

Is there a Roadmap for Workspaces and can you tell which Features to come?
