When i try to connect to the server (with m-files client) using HTTPS I get the following error:

Access is denied:
PropertyPageVault.cpp, 509, Access is denied. (0x80070005)
Helper.cpp, 376, Access is denied. (0x80070005)
(M-Files 10.0.3911.58)

Use of HTTPS requires some additional set up (and a security certificate) at the server.

Try using the default TCP/IP instead. If you need to use HTTPS, I suggest you contact support.

I did all the additional set up with SSL certificate. TCP/IP is working without a problem. I will try contacting support.

I got the same exact error message, when trying to connect from (newer) client 10.1.3915.45 to server 10.0.3911.24 using HTTPS.
No errors when using same version of client, no problems with new client over TCP/IP and no problems in web access. Only issue is when new client connects over HTTPS to server running older version. All error messages seem to talk about invalid user credentials and access denied, so maybe it's something how new client communicates user credentials to the server over HTTPS?

I put in a ticket with M-Files support so they can check this too..
  • We implemented some changes related to this in 10.1, so that may cause this issue. I'm sure our support team will be able to assist you with this.
