I have now had 3 machines not complete installation of the February 2020 update. The old version is still installed but not running and the new version is "running" but not as it presents with an error "M-Files Client is not Running." and the Windows Installer Service is stuck open. I can't install anything else until it completes or I force it to close. The fix so far is to kill the installer service and then remove the new version of M-Files, start the old M-Files services and then re-update to the new version by running the downloaded installer, but that's not a fix in my opinion. I've created a ticket with M-Files and am hoping maybe someone out here has seen this before. Let's see who offers the faster support.
I notice on a couple failing computers, Outlook was running, so perhaps the Outlook Add-In was preventing the complete uninstall and final steps to the installer? Rebooting didn't allow it to continue, so fail recovery on this install doesn't appear to be as good as previous versions.
My challenge is helping users remotely without the user having admin rights. I have a method, but would prefer to not have to do this. I will report back if I find anything else...
