Automatic updates leave multiple different versions

Hello, we are using M-Files in our company. For the most part they are working fine, but usually after updates the older version is still left on the users computer and opens on startup.

Usually the older version gets uninstalled automatically after a restart.

But recently we have had some users have the older version for over a week and we have had to uninstall it manually.

The older version gives the following error message: M-Files automatic update from version 23.3.12441.10 failed with Windows Installer error 1618.

Even when this error shows up, one of the M-Files clients has successfully updated.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Kind regards,

Mauri

  • We are also seeing this issue with some users for one of our clients, but maybe even more exaggerated. We are seeing a machine having all previous versions still appearing as installed. The user then uninstalled all previous versions and installed the latest version, however that is now not opening and an error referencing M-Files Client not running and a previous version still (M-Files 21.9)
