Object Creator Rule - Copy Rule

This is by design: if you configure an Object Creator copy rule, it's expected to replace the standard copy function with a more context-specific copy operation. Otherwise users might keep copying objects via the normal way and not use the Object Creator rule, potentially causing data inconsistencies and other compliancy issues.

This behavior is documented in the Compliance Kit configuration manual: "Object Creator copy rules disable the M-Files standard Make Copy feature for matching objects."

Drag-drop operations should still work if you want to attach such a file for instance to an Outlook email.

So, there's no way to copy the file once the Copy Rule has created the object? Is there any setting to change the the document's ability to be copied after the Copy Rule has been execute? The main function is only to created the object and documents. Afterwards, we would like the use to be able to copy the file to another object.

When you use drag and drop to object, the only option is to create a relationship with object. You can drag and drop out of mfiles and back in. That's to much pt for user.

We created object + documents as a template, so the user can just click on the create button(copy rule) to create a new object + documents. Once the new object + documents are created the user needs full rights to copy and paste these documents. What other options do we have to copy rule to create the object + documents?

You may need to consider developing a custom extension if you can't find alternative ways to perform all the use cases your users need with the standard copy operation disabled.
