Hi.

I haven't heard of this type of a setup before and don't have any facts to share so the following is just educated guesses.
Setting up the connector shouldn't be a problem, the administrator of the subsidiary's SharePoint Online tenant needs to register the app and generate the client id and client secret (see the connector installation guide for details). The connector also needs the indexer and permission retriever users on the SharePoint site so these probably need to be created by the SharePoint / domain admin also.
The bigger question mark is the user authentication and it boils down to what kind of access are you thinking of providing to the SharePoint site. Personal authentication is probably out of the question since then each M-Files user would need to have an account in the subsidiary's domain to be able to log into that SharePoint via M-Files. Common authentication might be possible if again the SharePoint / domain admin can create an account that is used for the common access. The user guide has more information on these authentication options: https://www.m-files.com/user-guide/latest/eng/external_repository_authentication.html
If someone else has tried this and can confirm that it is (not) working, please share your experiences!
Thank you for your reply. We thought also that the authentication could be the problem so thats why we wanted to know has anyone ever done this kind of thing or at least is it possible.
