M-Files Web - cannot check-in - how to configure domain or IIS server?

Hi,

We have been working with M-Files 2018 serwer in LAN and Web for several years and all used to be working fine. Recently we switched web access to secure https://mfiles.company.com domain. It is configured - we added domain records type A: @; www. In the router we are forwarding ports 80 and 443.

Then we added bindings on the IIS server of mfiles.company.com domain to 80 and 443. Also generated certificate so SSL works fine.

EXCEPT one issue: we cannot check-in files.

Yes, you can check-out but then you cannot check-in. Also it means you cannot create new file. Something is blocking file transfers - progress is hanging on 0%.

After configuring it all I gave up domain bindings and returned to direct IP operations - and all returned to normal.

It seems to me that some domain-related operations are blocking M-Files.

Any help and ideas nicely welcome.

Thank you in advance,

Maciej

  • It turned out that I cannot check-in also other objects, not only Documents. So, it looks like check-in regarding Project, Contact, and other non-file related objects are blocked after switching to SSL domain from direct IP (via firewall port mapping) stopped working.
