M-Files Web - cannot check-in - how to configure domain or IIS server?

Hi,

We have been working with M-Files 2018 serwer in LAN and Web for several years and all used to be working fine. Recently we switched web access to secure https://mfiles.company.com domain. It is configured - we added domain records type A: @; www. In the router we are forwarding ports 80 and 443.

Then we added bindings on the IIS server of mfiles.company.com domain to 80 and 443. Also generated certificate so SSL works fine.

EXCEPT one issue: we cannot check-in files.

Yes, you can check-out but then you cannot check-in. Also it means you cannot create new file. Something is blocking file transfers - progress is hanging on 0%.

After configuring it all I gave up domain bindings and returned to direct IP operations - and all returned to normal.

It seems to me that some domain-related operations are blocking M-Files.

Any help and ideas nicely welcome.

Thank you in advance,

Maciej

  • SUMMARY: After completion of a series of tests, here are conclusions and kind query of some support:

    1. I can check-out objects from ANY vault on a IIS server

    2. I CANNOT check them in while logged in from https://mfile.company.com

    3. I can check-in while logged on from https://<ip-address>

    4. What is interesting, it is that while logged in from mfiles.company com, all checked-out object can be checked-in on log-out (i.e. when I select Log out on a M-Files web...)

    5. I can log-in using <ip-address> of a server only when in binding on IIS server domain name (in this case mfile.company.com) is empty. Otherwise, the only log-in option is mfiles.company.com - so, the domain name.

    Any ideas regarding IIS, please?
