By making use of training offerings from each stage of the project, all M-Files user roles can be supported; before, during, and after the deployment of M-Files in your organization. Customized training plans can be designed to ensure quick and efficient user adoption in your organization.

Designed to get the project team up to speed with the M-Files mindset, terminology, best practices, and design principles.

When?

The day before or combined with the first M-Files Design Workshop, with the goal of getting the understanding needed to make design decisions and drive a more productive design workshop.

For Whom?

Those who participate in designing the metadata structure and M-Files functionalities to serve your organization’s needs – especially from the user perspective.

What?

Why?

To understand the intuitive and natural process of M-Files that enables the usage of information in a way that makes personal sense while maintaining company requirements.

The Importance of the M-Files Essentials Training is increased when skills with M-Files vary among design workshop participants. With training it is ensured that all participants can contribute effectively.

Duration (Average): 3 hours

Prerequisites: -

Provides an understanding of the M-Files mindset and know-how of the features available from a day-to-day usage perspective.

When?

  • Before the system testing phase for the people participating in testing
  • Around the go-live date
  • 4-6 weeks after the go-live

For Whom?

All internal and external users who use M-Files Desktop, Web, or Mobile in their daily routines.

What?

  • Basic M-Files functionalities
  • Finding and organizing information
  • Tips for daily use

Why?

To understand the individual and organizational benefits of using the M-Files and gain confidence in performing basic M-Files functionalities so you can start using the solution immediately.

It is recommended that M-Files Administrators and Super Users are introduced to this module before advancing into more complex topics. The training can be done in the production environment or a training vault according to your organization’s needs.

Duration (Average): 3 hours

Prerequisites: -

Training equips participants to act as a local support for other M-Files users. The training gives a closer look at the possibilities and advanced functions that the M-Files Desktop has to offer.

When?

In the design or testing phase before go-live: It is recommended that M-Files Super Users are trained well before the go-live date so that they have time to explore and test out the things learned in the training.

For Whom?

These super users are not necessarily internal M-Files trainers, but with advanced knowhow, they usually work as M-Files support persons for new employees with topics like:

  • M-Files’ daily usage and its possibilities, such as creating views
  • How department specific processes are handled in M-Files

What?

Why?

Prerequisites: User training

A training built to enable people to act as in-house M-Files Champions. With this training participants will know how to roll out efficient change management and support the organization’s transition to M-Files.

When?

Training should be taken well before the go-live date of the project so Champions have time to prepare the appropriate training material, communication actions and plan for the in-house training as well as other events.

For Whom?

The participants should have basic know-how of how the system functions before participating in this training as the Champion workshop does not focus on M-Files functionality. For users that can be considered as internal M-Files advocates, they can either function as in-house trainers or grassroot support people motivating daily users of M-Files.

Why?

A toolkit of user-centric tips that a coach can utilize to enable and empower users to connect with and get the most out of M-Files. Champions that can spread the M-Files mindset assist users to get up and running faster and more comfortably.

M-Files Champion training can prepare the participants to act as in-house trainers or as grassroot support for answering daily queries and enable users. The course content can be combined with some Super User topics and vice versa.

Duration (Average): 3 hours

Prerequisites: User training

Takes a look ‘under the M-Files hood’ into topics like metadata structure, views, workflows and permissions. The modules provide participants with knowledge to fine tune M-Files to best suit organizational needs.

When?

After the Essentials training and during the design phase. It is recommended that there are more than one Business Administrator training sessions during the project.

For Whom?

The users do not need to be technically oriented but understand the organization needs and processes. Usually Business Administrators are business unit/stream/process owners.

What?

Topics covered during this training include:

  • Metadata structure overview & modifications
  • Creating and managing common views
  • Managing processes with workflows
  • M-Files permission settings

Why?

Business administrators learn how to make small modifications quickly to your M-Files, e.g. changes to metadata structure, new common views, new workflows or modify existing workflows, modify the permission settings. After the training they also get a better understanding of the big picture and different possible uses of M-Files.

This is an in-depth look at M-Files administrator tools and is not necessary for every user. Usually the participants have access to the M-Files Admin tool and have taken the User course before participating.

Duration (Average): 1-2 days

Prerequisites: User training

Training teaches the participants how to perform the tasks to support a local M-Files environment.

When?

Training should be taken well ahead the go-live date to enable IT Administrators to create all the necessary infra-structure and devise suitable maintenance schedules.

For Whom?

This training is designed for users who are responsible for managing M-Files system as a part of the organizations IT infrastructure.

What?

This course gives detailed explanations of:

  • M-Files technical structure
  • Customer responsibilities (cloud)
  • Licenses and Login Accounts
  • User management in M-Files Manage (cloud)
  • Maintenance
  • Backups
  • Replication
  • Event log

Why?

The IT Administrator training provides information on how to support and maintain the M-Files environment by handling tasks such as user management or M-Files software updates.

Duration (Average): 3-7 hours

Prerequisites (recommended): User Training

 

M-Files Traction is A flexible ‘choose you own adventure’ training offering. Choose prescribed training modules support other training and communication actions all the way from design and go-live to lifecycle support.
M-Files Traction allows selecting two modules from prescribed offerings in the Traction menu. Examples of training modules:
