Value List without text but only icons

Perhaps, with some non-printing characters, but I have severe concerns about the usability element here...  What if the value list item is shown without the icon?

Hi, it worked with the following Key combination: ctrl + -

Well, if the icon is not shown then you have no idea wich item is selected. But that is not a problem for our use case.
