Changing workflows

Hi all,

A customer I'm working with would like to move documents from one workflow to another. I understand this is possible via scripting but is there a way to do it without going down that path? The other option I tried was rules in the metadata card but didn't have much luck (this could be down to my configuration and knowledge).

For context, these are controlled documents and the initial workflow is for new controlled document approval then publishing and the second workflow is for editing the published controlled documents.

I could potentially make this one large workflow to accommodate both processes but I wanted to confirm if there is a way to do change workflows I'm missing.

    A standard user doesn't have the ability to do this.  You can do it - in a convoluted way - via scripting, but not via the UI.

    One thing I would question though is why you're doing this with one object.  In most common situations we would recommend using a second object for the published version; this allows the original object to go through editing and the like without affecting the visibility of the published version.

    Have you looked at that option?
