Has anyone successfully configured a Microsoft 365 connection and enabled M365 storage so that documents are searchable through Copilot?
I’ve enabled the integration on one of our test M-Files vaults to try out the Copilot search capability, but so far I haven’t had any success. I’m not sure if something is misconfigured, as the support documentation seems fairly straightforward.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
- Set up the Microsoft 365 connection
- Authorized the connection using a Microsoft 365 admin account
- Enabled Microsoft 365 storage at the vault level
Initially, I ran into issues enabling M365 storage and was later advised that I also needed to specify our SharePoint site URL in the vault properties, not just the tenant ID. After making that change, the configuration completed successfully, but Copilot still does not return any results from the vault.
If anyone has successfully tested Copilot search with M-Files and Microsoft 365 storage, I’d appreciate it if you could share your experience or walk me through the steps you followed. I’d like to confirm whether I’m missing a configuration step or if there are additional prerequisites involved.
I have contacted support already but wanted to get a second opinion as they initially told me it takes about 24 hours for setup and it has been more than that now.
