M-Files Server & Client Compatibility

Hi,

Our clients are upgrading their license from perpetual to M-Files online. Some major clients, their users are still using windows 7  operating system and I hope the M-Files Online client doesn't support the windows 7 operating system. So, is it compatible the old M-Files 2018 client with new M-Files Online Server version?.

  • Technically M-Files Server for M-Files 2018 is compatible with M-Files Desktop 2018 and Online, and correspondingly, M-Files Server for M-Files Online is compatible with M-Files Desktop 2018 and Online (for reference, this is mentioned in the installation preconditions in the user guide). The last M-Files version compatible with Windows 7 was the January '20 release, you can find the system requirements for the latest release in the user guide.

Please note that product support for all versions of M-Files 2018 is ending in a couple of months on 31 December 2021, consistent with the M-Files Lifecycle Policy.
