Azure log-in with hardware token

Has anyone had any experience with customers trying to use hardware tokens as MFA with M-Files? The customer is using Azure authentication and wants to use a hardware token for MFA but he says the token is not detected by M-FIles.
According to this knowledge article on the Customer Support Portal any kind of MFA authentication is supposed to work with M-Files as "M-Files does not control the multi-factor authentication process at all. M-Files just waits for the IdP (Identity Provide) to tell whether the user is authenticated or not.":

However, in the case of the of physical hardware key that is inserted into the client's machine during log-in there could be complications as it could require some sort of connectivity between the log-in software within M-Files and the hardware token.
So has anyone seen this implemented?
