Is there a way to edit a pdf that has been created?

We have M-Files set up to update the text in documents based on the metadata before it produces a pdf. I am wondering if there is a way to get M-Files to instead interact directly with the PDF? This would mean that we could manage the PDFs generated by programs that M-Files is currently not able to talk with directly?

For example, we create a drawing in AutoCAD and use M-Files to update the metadata in the drawing frame. M-Files can then generate a PDF from this which has the current name, revision history, etc. However, if we create a map in QGIS and use the same frame in our layout, we currently have to manually update the frame either before creating the PDF or by editing the PDF itself.

I can see that the Compliance Kit has a 'PDF Processor' functionality but cannot see a way to get this to populate onto the PDFs directly?
