MFiles Desktop versus Web browser

We are in the process of moving to MFiles.
Is there a preference for using Desktop or Web Browser versions of MFiles?
We use a combination of Macs and PCs.

Thank you.

  • M-Files Desktop is the full-featured Windows client and recommended at least for administrators and power users. It integrates with Windows on the operating system level and includes for instance support for local scanners and an offline mode. You can find the technical requirements in the user guide.

Normal daily users as well as Mac users can use M-Files Web together with M-Files Web Companion. We are continuously adding new features to M-Files Web. M-Files Feature Comparison can be used as a reference to check the current features in each client.

I suggest raising this topic with your M-Files reseller so you can discuss the use cases and needs of your different user groups and decide on the client deployments. There may be some details specific to your environment and your planned M-Files use that will push the decision towards one client or the other.
