Is there anybody who use Solidworks files with M-Files ? I would like a preview of theses files with sldprt extension

Hi Everybody,

Is there anybody who use Solidworks files with M-Files ?

I would like a preview of files with sldprt extension but they seemed unrecognised even if I've installed an application compatible with them on my desktop and put it by default.

Any other idea ?

Thanks for your help

  • Can you preview these files in Windows Explorer, outside M-Files? M-Files Desktop relies on the Windows preview handlers so you should make sure that previewing works in Explorer first.

Note that even if an application can open a file of a certain format, it doesn't necessarily provide previewing capabilities.

  • Thanks Joonas, Actually it doesn't seem to work in Windows Explorer either just with a viewer app but it works with Solidworks App. I will check if I can find another viewer. Have a good day !

  • Also trying to find a CAD Viewer with Explorer Preview Functionality but I guess there is none available.. Hopefully M-Files can come sometime with another solution.. Maybe simply show an application in a separate Tab (or Preview Tab).. Remote Desktop Manager has this functionality.. With this you could even let PDF Files open with a separate Application with advanced functionality (like editing)..
