M-Files search takes forever

That looks like quite an old version of M-Files.  Are the standard optimisation processes being run?  What about vault size?  This only affects some users, not all?

M-Files support may be able to guide you on more debugging steps.

Yes, its an old version, but all our users have that version. Only one user has this problem. New PC, 1 of 10 that se deployed. 

We are runing Optimize Database (Thorough) every week and did Verify and Repair (Thorough).

Bouth vaults are 1TB in size and have 2TB storage.

If you have an active support contract then I'd probably raise a support ticket and see whether there's any guidance that can be given.  It sounds odd that the index is fast for a while then gets slow.  It also sounds odd that reinstalling fixes it.  Perhaps something else is going on.

If it only happens on one computer out of 10 - all performing exactly the same operations - then perhaps double-check things like AV exclusions, or maybe see what's marked for offline use, perhaps?

I agree with Craig. On both counts. You can also try clearing the local cache.

Clearing local cache is the same as reinstal. Its not ok, end users dont have admin rights.

I don't think anyone was saying that it's okay, just that it's going to be tough to diagnose via a forum.
