Documents not opening

Hi,  one of the users is having an issue with documents not opening. They are showing as checked out and can check them in ok. The open option from the drop down menu after right clicking isn't doing anything either. They have restarted their machine multiple times. This is a new issue and documents were opening correctly earlier. 

Any idea how to fix it?
