Help with the Related Hubs widget please

Hello community,

I have two hubs that I would like to connect with one another and I thought the Related Hubs widget could work for me.

When I try to configure it, it only asks for a name of the widget and the rights, there is not a place where I can select the Hub that I want to point users to.  Am I doing something wrong.

The final widget that gets created looks like this:

It just lists the hub that I am in - does not make any sense.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Irene

PS: I have also seen the use of the left hand side menu to connect to other hubs - how could I do that?

  • Hi Irene,

    It's been a while.
What you did seems to me like the right way to proceed: you should see "South West influencing hub" in the "Related Hub" widget in your parent hub.

Below is an example to illustrate this:

    1. On the main hub, I do not have an option to create a "related hubs" widget.

=> This is indeed weird. Eventually one reason could be that you already have this widget kind created in your parent hub, since "Related hub" is this kind of widget we can have only one time per hub. Maybe hidden in a page of your hub?

    2. On the sub-hub, I can create the related hubs widget but it does not do anything because the link is to the sub-hub - there is nothing to configure

=> Creating a Related hub widget in the hub doesn't make sense, or at least, Related hub widget only lists sub-hub so in your case, if you expect the widget to also show a link to go back to the parent hub, it will sadly not work like this.

  • Hi   Thank you so much.  You are absolutely right.  I had used that option in the past for the purpose described in this thread.  I had no idea that you could only use the widget once.  But it is there now. I have repurposed it.  My only comment is that the way it looks could be improved - maybe to see the hub as a tile or something similar.

On the sub-hub I was looking for a quick way to go back to the parent hub - I take your point, might be best using a link (I think I will use that for both because the related hub widget does not look great).

    Thanks for the clarification.

  • Hi Irene,

I agree with you, the current Related hub widget is not perfect and we could improve it. Also, very few customers do use Sub hubs and this widget, reason why we didn't invest a lot of energy in this widget during last years.

    Fair point still.

Hopefully we can make it better soon.
